In this post, we will look at the number of Qi points and the 2KEY token rewards earned by five 2key users who recently joined the 2key community during epoch 23 to 26 (February 19, 2021, to March 22, 2021).
This will give you a good idea of what you could achieve by participating in content distribution on a blockchain app such as 2key and share SmartLinks. Especially keeping in mind that the reward pool has just doubled in size and that additional bot and fraudulent click filters have further leveled the game against wannabe fraudsters.
We will look at their Qi points earnings and the total epoch 2KEYrewards they received for each of the four covered epochs.
Why Did Select Those Users?
As you can see, the data is anonymized and replaced by letters. Whether these users display their real name or a username, 2key cares about their privacy.
These users have been selected according to 3 criteria:
- They signed up for 2key between the 12th and the 19th of February 2021.
- They had continued content distribution through sharing SmartLink activity from the moment they signed up until at least the end of the fourth period considered.
- They had no staking other than those they added from their earnings from their activity, if they claimed them and transferred them to their wallet.
The section was made at the end of period 25, for seven users matching those criteria
User A and F had to be discarded from this study as:
- User A bought 2KEY tokens and staked them during the fourth epoch (Epoch 26)
- User F had no activity during the last epoch (Epoch 26)
Staking 2KEY tokens in a wallet connected to your 2key account yields rewards calculated according to the percentage of your staked amount relative to the entire staked 2KEYs. As 25% of the reward pool is dedicated to rewarding staking, and this study was focused on measuring the rewards a 2key user can earn through sharing links, we excluded new users with staking.
For this study, we considered only earnings from activity and reputation, starting with a zero reputation as all the users included were new users at the start of the study with no previously earned reputation.
Reminder of 2key Reward Pool Wealth Distribution Model
As for all 2key users, the rewards earned by those users for their content distribution efforts are calculated as follows:
- 50% of the reward pool for the epoch is distributed proportionally to the total activity for the epoch as follows:
The number of Qi points collected for the active epoch + 50% of those collected during the previous epoch + 25% of those collected in the epoch before the previous epoch.
If you look at the numbers of user D, who earned 991 2key tokens for the fourth epoch despite a paltry 3 Qi points earned during that epoch, this is why!
- 25% of the reward pool for the epoch is distributed proportionally to users’ total reputation (the accumulated amount of Qi points earned during the user’s lifetime activity on 2key.)
That means, if your activity for the epoch was 100 and the total activity for the same epoch was 10000, you receive 1% or the reward pool’s half dedicated to the epoch’s activity.
The selection was designed to cover new users' content distribution activity exclusively, so the selected users had no 2KEY tokens staking. As you know, rewards for staking on a 2key account connected wallet are distributed as follows:
- 25% of the reward pool for the epoch is distributed proportionally to users' active staking. The epoch’s amount for each user staking 2KEY tokens is calculated by adding the amount staked on any of the epoch’s day to each day of the epoch.

During Epoch 23, user B earned 294 Qi points that yielded 804 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 24, user B earned 176 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 470, which, together, yielded 856 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 25, user B earned 416 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 885, which, together, yielded 1299 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 26, user B earned 1057 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1942, which, together, yielded 3061 2KEY tokens.

User C Earnings for Content Distribution through Sharing SmartLinks
During Epoch 23, User C earned 415 Qi points that yielded 1136 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 24, User C earned 1038 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1453, which, together, yielded 3235 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 25, User C earned 250 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1704, which, together, yielded 2700 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 26, User C earned 180 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1883, which, together, yielded 1597 2KEY tokens.
Total 2KEY tokens earned by user C during these four epochs: 8668 2KEY tokens.
User D Earnings for Content Distribution through Sharing SmartLinks
During Epoch 23, User D earned 241 Qi points that yielded 659 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 24, User D earned 350 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 591, which, together, yielded 1226 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 25, User D earned 316 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 906, which, together, yielded 1246 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 26, User D earned 3 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 909, which, together, yielded 991 2KEY tokens.
Total 2KEY tokens earned by user D during these four epochs: 4122 2KEY tokens.
User E Earnings for Content Distribution through Sharing SmartLinks
During Epoch 23, User E earned 300 Qi points that yielded 822 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 24, User E earned 262 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 563, which, together, yielded 1086 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 25, User E earned 1234 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1797, which, together, yielded 3171 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 26, User E earned 354 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 2151, which, together, yielded 2650 2KEY tokens.
Total 2KEY tokens earned by user D during these four epochs: 7729 2KEY tokens.
User G Earnings for Content Distribution through Sharing SmartLinks
During Epoch 23, User G earned 519 Qi points that yielded 1420 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 24, User G earned 210 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 729, which, together, yielded 1254 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 25, User G earned 209 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 938, which, together, yielded 1057 2KEY tokens.
During Epoch 26, User G earned 530 Qi points, bringing the total Qi score to 1467, which, together, yielded 1677 2KEY tokens.
Total 2KEY tokens earned by user D during these four epochs: 5407 2KEY tokens.
As you can see, it pays to share SmartLinks, and it pays for a long time. As your Reputation score increases, so do your earnings, even if you take a break from content distribution for a while. This is due to:
- the 25% of the Reward Pool reserved for your Reputation score, and
- the rollover effect of your activity during the two previous epochs.
